How do I pay?

How long will you counsel me for?

Our sessions will initially last for 6 weeks, upon completion together we will review progress, and discuss if further counselling would be beneficial to you.

What if I find counselling unsuitable for me?

Counselling isn’t for everybody we are all unique and individual. Please discuss with me if you have any concerns.

Where will our counselling sessions take place?

Our sessions will be over Zoom video call or telephone.

What if I find counselling difficult?

Counselling at times may be difficult, it is a process and sometimes you may feel like you want to bring our sessions to a close, I would ask you come and talk to me about these difficulties rather than suddenly ending, as this could well deprive us of the chance of resolving important issues.

How much notice do you require to cancel a session?

If you are unable to attend a session it is important that you notify (me) your therapist at, waterwaystherapy@outlook.com or telephone 07432 670384 in the first instance, ideally as soon as possible or at least 24 hours before our session is due to commence.

What if I have to cancel at short notice due to reasons out of my control?

If you need to cancel for a reason out of your control please email me, or telephone at your earliest convenience. We can then rearrange your session. If two consecutive counselling sessions are missed, without contact from you then our counselling contract will be terminated.

If we are counselling on Zoom and I lose transmission - what is the process

I will telephone you if transmission is lost during our Zoom video session.

Why do you need to take notes during our sessions? Where are they stored?

I will be taking notes during our sessions to track your progress, identify patterns, provide an audit trail for legal and ethical reasons. Also, to meet professional standards in line with GDPR. Notes are stored on a encrypted, password protected computer.

Are my sessions confidential?

Your sessions will be conducted over Zoom, I will be wearing head phones, and my notes will be shredded once I have transferred them on to a password protected encrypted computer. Confidentiality will build trust between ourselves.

If, however, you disclose you are going to harm yourself or a third person, then I will contact outside agencies, disclosing your name etc. I will keep your notes for 7 years in accordance with GDPR – during our session your counselling notes may be used in a court of law, for legal proceedings. If you wish to have a look at your notes I will require a months’ notice.
